Valerie’s nomadic youth, from Alaska to Vermont to Japan to California, gave her an appreciation early on to look for beauty in everything.
It’s not often one can fashion a life from simply being able to effectively express oneself, but Valerie has turned her ability to take note of the smallest details into careers as a graphic designer, creative director, commercial illustrator, fine artist, and teacher. She has illustrated army training films, coloring books, greeting cards, packaging and user interfaces. She specialized in three-dimensional design, which led to teaching at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
As a principal of two successful San Francisco Bay Area design firms with an impressive corporate client list, Valerie brings a strong sense of design and typography to her projects.
